There are five primary InterStream system projects which must be managed in parallel for successful media grid operation and consumer adoption. These projects are either specific to a particular vendor and commercial sponsor of the media grid or are implemented using an open source model. The following table outlines the projects, proposed license, major functionality, commercial sponsors, and vendor specificity:
